Tips for HVAC: How to Keep your Baby Safe

When you get a baby, everything in your life is brand new, especially for first-time moms and dads. It can bring some worries you have never had before. Babies are like us. They have needs and want to be comfortable – cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

The ideal temperature

When you have a baby, the ideal room temperature is equally important as everything else. The proper temperature for a nursery is approximately 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Remember that your baby will likely be as comfortable as you, so if it is too cool for you, it is the same for the baby.

Keep your little ones safe

Avoid placing your baby directly under or next to the vent. The direct air blowing on them will cause discomfort and some health problems.

Pay attention to your baby’s comfort

Checking your baby often will help you to keep it comfortable. If you notice that your baby has flushed cheeks, you might need to lower the air conditioner or turn the fan. Some babies like cold, and some enjoy the heat. Pay attention to your baby to know what works for your child.

Maintain the HVAC

If your HVAC is in good condition, you don’t have a reason to worry about the impact on your baby. However, the dirty ductwork and poorly maintained air conditioner can become problematic. To maintain a healthy indoor environment, keep your HVAC system clean.

Change air filters regularly, and if you find a problem, fix it immediately.
