Extend The Service Life Of Your HVAC
You should consider having your air ducts cleaned if there is rodent or insect infestation, or excessive amounts of dust and debris inside them, or in the other components of your HVAC system.
While duct cleaning only needs to be done periodically, there are ways to slow the buildup of particles inside the ductwork to help extend the service life of your heating and cooling system. Here are some of them:
1. Change Air Filters Regularly
Clean them monthly and replace them once in 3 months for the best results. Dusty conditions, pets, or pollen can clog up a filter.
2. Make Sure That Your Home Is Dust-Free
You cannot entirely avoid pollen, dust, pet dander, and other particles in the air. But what you can is making sure there are fewer of them inside your home. Take care of your floors and all other surfaces by cleaning them using an automatic vacuum cleaner, dust mop, or broom.
3. Ensure Clean Indoor Air Circulation
You can do this by opening windows and doors two times a day for at least 5-10 minutes!
4. Call For Preventive Maintenance
Call your local HVAC service provider and schedule a professional maintenance visit. That will allow an HVAC professional to inspect the system and make repairs and adjustments to keep it working safely.
