Is it really a revolutionary product that will change our indoor lives forever or is it just smoke and mirrors? In order to answer this question, we need to carefully investigate the effectiveness of this new technology.

How does the aeroseal work? First, the aeroseal duct sealant is applied as an aerosol mist. In this form, the aeroseal duct sealant spreads through the ductwork, bonds with leaking areas, and, in the end, transforms into a permanent seal. Sounds fascinating, but even this technological wonder isn’t all-mighty.

You should be aware that the aeroseal works only on small gaps and holes. When it comes to large leaking areas, you should consider a different solution. Also, although the sealant is being presented as an energy efficiency upgrade, it won’t save you a significant amount of money.

In conclusion: It is almost certain that the marketing strategists are overselling the aeroseal duct sealant. However, it doesn’t mean that it is not an effective tool – just be reasonable and don’t expect miracles.
